Abstract:Based on the data from the Seventh Health Service Survey of Jiangsu Province, this study analyzed the current status and determinants of remote support or guidance services by healthcare professionals in Jiangsu Province, aiming to provide insights for healthcare models innovation. The results revealed that in 2023, the proportion of healthcare professionals receiving remote support or guidance services from external hospitals was 50.4%, while the proportion of those providing services to external hospitals was 31.1%. Healthcare professionals with a university education and perceived efficiency improvements were more likely to receive services from external hospitals. The situation of healthcare professionals receiving services from external hospitals varied significantly across regions. Healthcare professionals with a senior professional title and perceived efficiency improvements were more likely to provide such services. The situation of healthcare professionals providing services to external hospitals varied significantly across regions. The proportion of remote support or guidance services by healthcare professionals in Jiangsu Province remains suboptimal. Service Provision is influenced by individual characteristics, perceptions of information platforms’ efficiency, and regions. Therefore, future policy initiatives should focus on enhancing healthcare professionals’ training, optimizing information platforms, and promoting regional coordination to further maximize the potential of healthcare information technology and advancing the modernization of healthcare.
