Objective: To know the development state of health service in Jiangsu province from 2006 to 2009. Methods: The output of scientific papers of Jiangsu province published in the domestic and foreign academic circles in the four years were analyzed. Results: China Science and Technology Journal Cited Report showed that Jiangsu area had been in a state of the lead and always kept the third place, but the development quality or top innovation point were far behind the areas of Beijing and Shanghai, and the level of development of health service was quite behind other trades of Jiangsu province. Conclusion: During the “Twelfth Five－year Plan”, we should expend money input, foster medical person,maintain stable and sustained development of medical and public health undertakings, at the same time promote high level innovative medical and health service.
