Abstract:Objective: Taking students from a medical university and a non-medical university in Nanjing as example,to learn students’ recognition of body donation and their attitude towards it, and to explore the reasons why there are too few body donations and to find the solutions. Methods: By using the method of cluster sampling, we chose 303 students from two kinds of universities for a questionnaire study, and then used SPSS16.0 to collect and analyze the data. Results: Students from medical university acquired more basic knowledge about body donation than those from non-medical university. Students from two different universities had no significant differences on the attitude towards donating their own bodies. However, students majored in medicine tend to be more supportive of their close relatives’ body donation. Both of them had no significant differences on their views on the specific condition of body donator’s close relatives making their determinations. Conclusion:To increase the rate of body donation, we need to establish a rounded system of body donation, publicize body donation in more approaches and encourage universities to educate on death.
