This Meta-analysis aimed to systematically assess the mental health status of new generation of migrant workers. A total of 20 literatures researching the mental health by using the Symptom Check list 90 (SCL-90) during 2007 to 2015 were enrolled in this study. The results showed that the mean effect size of all the factors concentrated between 0.144 and 0.328, which indicated that the mental health status of the new generation of migrant workers was lower than that of the national norm, but it was not serious as expected. The most serious factors were horror and anxiety. The mental health status remained steady in the duration of the study. There were no significant differences between males and females in their mental health status. The marriage status had no significant effect on the mental health. The migrant workers working in the in the interior regions of China suffered more serious psychological problems than workers in developed coastal areas.
