Objective: To investigate the current situation of scientific research of the hospital, and make reasonable suggestions to improve the efficiency of management and to promote the scientific research ability. Methods: We sorted and screened the related data and documents including the number, level, distribution of projects and scientific payoffs during 2011-2015 to find out the problems. Results: The amount of projects showed ascending trend yearly, and the projects were mainly supported by national, provincial and municipal funds, which accounted for 49.9%, 33.5% and 16.6%, respectively. National funds were 1.76 times more than provincial ones, 20.74 times more than municipal ones. The top 5 departments gaining the most projects were cardiology department, department of geriatrics, general surgery department, liver surgery and oncology department. The amount of paper, patents and the rewards for scientific achievements showed a continuous increase. Conclusion: The hospital has the problem of imbalance between subject development, low efficiency of scientific research achievement transformation and insufficient support on personnel training. The hospital should reinforce the construction of discipline, to enhance the consciousness of achievement transformation and to increase investment in scientific research.
