With the support of the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration, the first rehabilitation hospital of China, Nanjing Disabled Rehabilitation Hospital, was created after the victory of the war of resistance against Japan. Archives at the Second Historical Archives of China and Nanjing Municipal Archives Bureau showed that there were advanced equipment and adequate staff in the Nanjing Disabled Rehabilitation Hospital when it was established and the director who hosted the hospital also had a very rich experience of rehabilitation services. However, as the Kuomintang regime quickly went to the end, the Nanjing Disabled Rehabilitation Hospital was then moved to Taiwan.
