This study aimed to analyze the equality of maternal mortality distribution among different regions in China. Using the statistical data of 2010—2013 years， the concentration index was used to evaluate the health equity of maternal mortality. From 2009 to 2012， the maternal mortality rates in the eastern， central and western regions of China decreased by 33.42%， 30.34% and 34.45% respectively. The concentrated curve drawn by GDP per capita was shown: The eastern， central and western equality in Maternal Mortality concentrated curves were mostly distributed above the equality line， and the eastern region was more deviated from the equality line， while the central region was closer to the equality line. The concentration curve drawn by comparing urban and rural consumption levels was shown: Most of the eastern， central and western concentration curves were under the equal line， of which the eastern region was more deviated from the equal line， while the central and western regions were roughly equal to the equality line. These results show that the maternal mortality level in China has been improved in general， but the rapid economic and social development may bring imbalance of the health distribution for some local areas. Therefore， pay attention to efficiency， at the same time to give considerations to equity.
