66 medical injury cases in cancer hospitals of the Yangtze River Delta Region from 2013 to 2017 were analyzed to understand the characteristics and causes, and the method of case analysis was adopted. We propose measures to prevent and alleviate disputes. The cases mostly occurred in Jiangsu and Shanghai. The majority of the patients involved were middle?aged and elderly. They were often involved in the process of surgery, treatment, diagnosis and notification and the patients or their families expect too much compensation. In this regard, the doctors should pay more attention to patients’ humanistic care and further improve the technical level of medical staff. The hospital should implement the informed consent system, strengthen the construction of medical quality management system and strengthen cancer knowledge propaganda of patients and their families.
