In this research， we analyzed the current cultivation situation of primary health care teams and general practitioners in Jiangsu province. The results indicated that the cultivation for three?year clinical medical students had accelerated the construction scale of general medical team for the rural areas and the scale of construction achieved initial efficacy. However， it is still urgent to further improve the quality and service capacity. In view of the current cultivation situation of general medical students in Jiangsu Province， we try to explore novel mechanisms that how to cooperate with college education to enhance the training quality for the “3+2” assistant general practitioners. Besides， we further issued a series of recommendations and initiatives focused on improvement of systems， enhancement of organization and responsibility， elevation of teaching faculty， standardized training for general practitioners and the construction community teaching centers and so on.
