According to the data from China Family Panel Studies 2016, the OLS model and the binary Logistic regression model were used for analysis, the effect of living arrangement on the depression of older adults and the mediating role of intergenerational supporting in the relationship between two generations were explored in our study. The results show that compared with older adults who live alone, the risk of depression were lower both in those living with children (B = -1.963, P<0.01) and those living with non?children(B = -1.691, P<0.05). The elderly living with their children can get more intergenerational support. Older adults who only received housework support have higher depression(P<0.05), while those with high frequency of meeting with children have lower depression(P<0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that living arrangement has a significant effect on the risk of depression, and intergenerational support act as a partial mediation between the two issues.
