To explore the relationship and its mechanism between the awareness of epidemic situation and the professional commitment of students in higher vocational medical schools during COVID?19. A total of 8 052 students from higher vocational medical colleges were selected for online questionnaire surveys. The results showed that the deeper the understanding of the epidemic situation, the higher the level of professional commitment, and the sense of self?efficacy played an intermediary role between the level of recognition and professional commitment; Professional category had a moderating effect on the mediating model, and the students who can obtain the nurse / assistant doctor qualification certificate had a greater moderating effect. It is conducive to improve their professional commitment level for paying attention to the cultivation of professional knowledge and skills of students in vocational medical colleges and professional identity education.
