It offered head nurses promotion opportunities in newly?built hospital. While it also made it difficult for head nurses to face a lot challenges as scientific research, communication, coordination, and teaching in the special environment of newly?built hospital. Head nurses hoped to get enough supports from hospital in all aspects to improve the management level and performance. This study aims to provide the empirical basis for training a high?quality team of head nurses by discussing the management experience of new head nurses in newly?built hospital by the method of qualitative research and semi?structured interview to interview 14 head nurses on their management experience in newly?built hospital. The obtained research data were collected and analyzed to extract the three themes of opportunity, challenge and vision. Though head nurses in newly?built hospital had a short working time and relatively insufficient management experience, they were full of enthusiasm for work. It should adopt various ways to meet the needs of head nurses for self?improvement in hospital.
