With the help of the CiteSpace software， this study made visual analysis of 889 research articles published in BMJ Quality & Safety from 2011 to 2019 in order to review the current situation， hot spots and trends of international medical quality and safety research， and provide reference for promoting relevant research. The results showed that multiple high?level research institutions and groups of core authors in this field had been formed to lead the development of related research. Teamwork， adverse drug events， patient?centered nursing， and clinical practice guidelines， etc. were hot research topics. Nursing technology and services have attracted much attention to the guarantee of medical quality and safety. Strengthening the application of information technology and carrying out evidence?based research to reduce diagnosis errors are important research frontiers and trends.
