Abstract:We report a case of early gastric cancer with trophoblastic differentiation. A 69?year?old female presented with upper abdominal discomfort, and gastroscopy revealed gastric adenocarcinoma. She underwent radical distal gastrectomy. Postoperative pathology showed papillary adenocarcinoma (70%) with trophoblastic differentiation (30%), invading the submucosa, with no metastasis in 26 examined lymph nodes. Immunohistochemistry demonstrated that the trophoblastic component was positive for HCG and PLAP. At 96 months of follow?up, the patient remained free of tumor recurrence or metastasis.
