Objective: To review the clinical experience in surgical treatment for Tetralogy of Fallot in adults over 15 years old. Methods:From October 1997 to January 2006,50 patients over 15 years old(15-57 years) underwent corrective repairment for Tetralogy of Fallot. Ventricular septal defects were repaired with Dacron patches in all patients. Forty-one cases were operated to widen the right ventricular outflow with patches and 9 cases underwent single repairment of right ventricular outflow. Results:One patient died from severe low cadiac output syndrome after operation. Heart functions and clinical manifestations were improved significantly in other patients. Conclusion:Proper surgical correction and careful perioperative management play an important role in the treatment of Tetralogy of Fallot in adults.
