Objective:To investigate the relationship between single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNP) of adiponectin gene(SNP+ 276G/T) and coronary artery disease in non-diabetic Chinese han population. Methods:The single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNP) at positions 276 in adiponectin gene were determined by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphisms(PCR-RFLP) assay in persons of Han nationality in Nanjing area, including 135 patients with coronary artery disease(CAD group) and 131 normal controls(control group). Results:Adjusted OR of G/G genotype is 3.16(P < 0.05); adjusted OR of G/G+G/T is 2.69,(P < 0.05). Conclusion:The distribution of SNP+276 genotypes were significantly different between CAD group and control group. And G/G genotype appeared more frequently in patients with coronary artery disease than normal population, which suggests that adiponectin gene seems to closely associate with coronary artery disease in Chinese han population.
