Abstract:Objective:To evaluate antioxidant nutrients’ protection on reproductive oxidative damage male rats induced by acrylamide(AA). Methods:Six-week-old SD male rats were randomly divided into 6 groups. The six groups were negative control group, positive exposure group,VitE group,VitC group, selenium group and VitE+selenium group, respectively. After four weeks, rats were killed to collect serum, liver, testis, epididymis, and then the contents of AA,glycidamide (GA),malonaldehyde(MDA),superoxide dismutase (SOD),glutathione-S-transferase(GSH-ST) and liver microsomal cytochrome P450 2E1 were determined. Results: Rats exposed to AA had significantly decreased weight, liver index and epididymis coefficient, and the SOD,GSH-ST levels in serum and the MDA level in testis were significant different compared with the controls. Compared with the positive exposure groups, the SOD,GSH-ST levels in serum and the MDA level in testis of the antioxidant nutrients groups were significant different. Compared with the VitE,selenium groups, the MDA levels in testis of VitE+Se group had significant differences. The activity of liver microsomal cytochrome P450 2E1 in VitE and VitC groups had a statistical difference compared with the positive exposure group. Conclusion: The antioxidant nutrients had a protective effect on male reproductive oxidative damage in rats induced by AA,and VitE+selenium protective effect of better use.
