Nowadays, most journals of medical university have to face the difficulty of the deficiency of excellent papers. Combining the experience of successful international journals and the condition of most journals of national medical university, this paper pointed out that there were many problems in the academic characteristic of editors in our country and it should pay much attention to the editorial self-cultivation and try to be scholar editors in order to improve the academic impact of the journals of medical university.
