Abstract:Objective:To study the effect of diabetes education organized by hospitals on patients’self managing efficiency and the influencing factors of it. Methods: 124 cases of type 2 diabetes outpatients were divided into two groups: educated group(EG)and non educated group(NEG). Age,sex, educational status, self managing efficiency, knowledge of diabetes and rate of being in hospital for diabetes were investigated respectively during Jan 2005 and Jan 2008. Results: There were no difference of age,sex and educational status between two groups. After education level of all the parameters were advanced in EG,but only level of exercise and knowledge of diabetes were increased in NEG. Meanwhile,the ameliorated degree of every index were associated with patients’educational status. Conclusion: Diabetes education organized by hospitals could increase the level of diabetes knowledge,advance the ability of diabetes patients’self management,and decrease the rate of being in hospital for diabetes finally. The profitability of education was correlated with patients’educational status.
