Abstract:Objective:To explore the current situation of occupational identity for physicians in Nanjing. Methods:1 186 physicians from 27 medical institutions in Nanjing were investigated by questionnaires and interviews. Results:The recognition rate was relatively higher in the aspect of occupational cognition, behavior, value and emotion, but lower in occupational commitment. The occupational identity was statistically different in gender, education level, weekly working hours and hospital grade(P < 0.05). Conclusion: Specific management measures should be carried out according to the impact of different demographic variables on the occupational identity of physicians.
