Abstract:Objective: To evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of microwave ablation for breast cysts. Methods: Microwave ablation was performed on a total of 25 breast cysts in 22 patients under local anesthesia with ultrasound guided. US Follow-up was repeated at 3, 6, 12, and 24 months after ablation. Cosmetic outcomes and satisfaction were also evaluated. Results: All operations were completed successfully, and no obvious adverse effects occurred during the treatment. Repeated US follow-ups were performed at 3, 6, 12 and 24 months after MWA. One patient lost follow-up during the study. 2 patient had a local recurrence at 6 and 12 months after surgery. 95.83% of patients obtained a better cosmetic rating. Conclusion: Microwave ablation is a feasible method for the treatment of breast diseases, and can be chosen as the preferred therapy for breast cysts, but further research is needed.
