Abstract:To evaluate the subjective well⁃being of chronically ill patients with contracted family doctors in
rural areas and explore the main influencing factors of their subjective well⁃being, aquestionnaire survey was
conducted in three counties(districts) of southern, central and northern Jiangsu Province in July 2019 by
combining typical sampling with stratified cluster sampling. The socio ⁃ economic characteristics, contracted
service quality evaluation, outpatient and inpatient expenses of chronic diseases, health behavior, and health
outcomes of key participants were investigated. A total of 1 740 participants were included in the current study,
             of whom 1 204(69.2%)were suffering from hypertension,299(17.2%)were suffering from diabetes,and 237
(13.6%)were suffering from other chronic diseases. Of all the participants,70(4.0%)people were of“low⁃level
             happiness”,208(11.9%) showed“weakened happiness”,and 1 466(84.1%) felt“happy”. The overall
subjective well ⁃ being of the surveyed areas was relatively high. Logistics regression analysis were used to
analyze main factors influencing subjective well⁃being, which showed that the participants whose living area was
southern Jiangsu, burden of chronic disease was low, frequency of psychological guidance was high, quality of
contracted services was high, and health status was well, had high level of perceived subjective well⁃being. It is
suggested that the regional government should implement health policies and aging care services, improve the
construction of the medical security system, and improve the quality of family doctors’contracted services,so
as to improve the subjective well⁃being of patients with chronic diseases purposefully.
