Abstract:To investigate community residents’perception of specialist doctors’participation in family
doctor contract service, this study conducted a random sample survey based on residents from three community
health service centers in South Anhui,Central Anhui and North Anhui. We investigate the general status of
community residents, family doctor signing and access to services. It also focuses on residents’awareness and
demand for specialist doctors in core hospitals of medical alliances participating in contracted family doctor
services. Among 1 279 community residents,686 signed the contract with a signing rate of 53.6%. 64.11% of
the residents were willing to sign up with the family doctor team involving specialist doctors from the medical
alliance. The decision to sign, the understanding of the medical alliance and its specific region were the
influencing factors of whether the community residents were willing to sign family doctor service with medical
alliance specialists. The top three services contracted residents received were“establishing health records”
(97.38%),“health testing”(85.28%) and“telephone follow ⁃ up”(76.97%). The top three demands of
community residents in this service are“treatment of common diseases”(71.07%),“healthcare guidance”
(67.63% ) and "prevention and treatment of chronic diseases”(63.72% ). We suggest strengthening the
publicity, promoting the integration of medical prevention and treatment and building a long⁃term mechanism
for specialized doctors in medical alliances to participate in the contracted service of family doctors.
