Research on Wu Lien Teh’s modern public health ideologies

Abstract：Under the influence of the current situation and national conditions，Wu Lien Teh’s public
health ideology has continuously developed during his study and practice，gradually forming a rich public
health ideological system，namely，infectious disease prevention and control is the primary content of public
health in China at that time，the right to quarantine at seaports reflects the sovereignty of the country，

education is an essential means to raise national awareness of public health，and the public medical system is a
necessary support for public health. These public health ideologies led the trend of the times in China at that
time，making positive contribution to the development of national health at both ideological and practical
levels，with an important historical role and practical reference significance.
