Chinese⁃style modernization of healthcare: core concepts，historical

evolution and practical pathways

Abstract：People’s health represents a key indicator of socialist modernization， and the modernization of
the healthcare sector is an integral component of Chinese⁃style modernization. Over the past century，under the
leadership of the Communist Party of China，the modernization of Chinese healthcare has gone through four
stages: initiation， exploration，development，and deepening with outstanding achievements. The connotation of
“putting people’s health at the center”has been deepening and expanding through national，comprehensive，
and whole⁃process practices. The concepts of“great hygiene”and“great health”have become widely embraced
by the public. Nowadays，the promotion of Chinese ⁃ style healthcare modernization still faces many practical
challenges. It is imperative to strengthen scientific and technological innovation in healthcare field，continuously
deepen reform，enhance the legalization level of the healthcare sector，and strengthen efforts to fight against
corruption in the healthcare field.
