Research on the protection of the rights of patients with COVID⁃19

Abstract：In the post⁃epidemic era when the research on the protection of rights and interests is becoming
more extensive，the issue of protecting the rights and interests of patients with COVID ⁃ 19 has gradually
surfaced. By analyzing the current situation of the protection of the rights and interests of COVID⁃19 patients in
China，this paper explained the risk of the decline from the“physiologically weak”to the“socially weak”，the
connotation of the right to non⁃discrimination that needs to be implemented and extended，and the narrowing of
the definition of the subject of privacy infringement，etc. This paper proposed to establish an anti⁃discrimination
cultural atmosphere from three aspects such as the right to treatment，the right not to be discriminated against，
and the right of privacy；reform the ethical care mechanism；give play to the role of employment arbitration
institutions，and build an employment risk assessment system；implement multiple protection measures；and
expand the scope of punishment for violating of privacy rights. These suggestions provided reference for the
protection of the rights and interests of COVID⁃19 patients in China.
